Movement 5- The Settlers theme is slightly varied in the style Elgar. Again the theme is played through twice. In this movement everyone plays together (i.e. settlers and bush).
Movement 6- Here the theme is closest to that borrowed from the aboriginals. It is played through three times.
It is both the string techniques together with the variation form which combined create such a unique piece of music.
