As I sit here in front of the Gateway 2000 that we have had for over three years, my mind
draws a blank as to what I should write for my college essay. The ticking of the second
hand on the clock that sits over the computer seems to be chanting the word “college” at
me and I start to sweat. The blankness of the screen stares back at me waiting for me to

person from them and I am thankful for them. I am going to go from being a senior to
being a freshman again in only a matter of two months and I’m scared, yet I’m prepared.
My only hope right now for the future is that my experience in college, wherever I may
end up, is as rewarding as my experience in Herricks High School.
