view this as such an important event because of the fact that during the case before Williams was judged not guilty he told Kelso that he had set up the scene to make it look like Billy shot at him first. The painting is a symbol for the way that Kelso did not tell anyone this and in a way covered it up much like the painting covers the truth of what was originally painted.
