King Lear - themes
William Shakespeare wrote the play, King Lear around 1602-1608 when he was at the height of his tragic power. Shakespeare had an acute understanding of human nature, and the ironies of life, which he portrays perfectly through the themes in the play. Although the passage is rather small in quantity, it contains a large amount of in-depth ideas and themes, from throughout the play. Because of the way the themes intertwine with each other, they are so easily portrayed, and the scene it important because it does just that. King Lear will continue to be a complicated and deep play.
