Gatsby had high aspects right from when he was a child, this was interpreted from the journal he had written he dreamt of high standards and achieved them. No doubtingly he was extremely rich, but no matter how wealthy he was, he could not attain everything he desired, most importantly he could not relive the past. Obviously the wealth, had brought Daisy and himself closer, but Daisy was now married and lived a family life.
